In The News

Dateline: March 1, 1997

The news from Eagle Peak is . . . Scruffy, a 3 year old Cocker Spaniel got loose at 6:30 AM and chased one black and white skunk, affectionately called "Stinky" by the neighborhood. Scruffy successfully made contact with Stinky at 6:31 AM.

By the time the entire neighborhood was awakened by the noise and commotion, Scruffy was headed home to Mom and Dad with her nose buried in the grass and that sweet smell of perfume all over body. Unfortunately, Dad forgot to close the front door when he went looking to see what the racket was all about and . . . you got it, Scruffy, the little sweetie that she is, slipped inside.

Let's just leave it that Mom and Dad are sleeping over with the the Inlaws, Scruffy has been sent to Boarding School with free daily baths for a few days, and the house, well... what can I say? Dad is such a good Handyman to have around according to Mom. Mom was last heard saying "You'll figure something out, won't you Dear? Dad, on the otherhand, was last heard mumbling to himself something about going shopping for a nice cat. The couch Scruffy chose to come to rest on in the living room is currently residing in the garage with a couple of very aromatic throw rugs.
